The Whale House

Provincetown, Massachusetts

A collaboration with photographer Joanna Maclennan for her first book, dedicated to unique homes built with foraged elements.

LOCATION / Paul Tasha’s private residence has been designed & patiently constructed, stone by stone through his strong will. It is located on a wooded hill of Provincetown’s East End.

THE STORY /  Paul is always foraging. He also collects artifacts & rugs with superb character. When I first walked the sand floor of the Whale House, blinded by the contrast of sunny afternoon light, I felt like Jonah waking up in a whale belly….

This whale most certainly had swallowed a ship! Antique stoves, trunks & artifacts were slowly appearing out of the shadows between the cool stone walls… I named the house as I walked upstairs onto the incredible wood & stone composition surrounding a whale’s jaw bone hanged in the grande room.

Paul gets to call it home…
