Harry Kemp’s Cottage

Provincetown, Massachusetts

A photographic essay of an artist cottage, sheltered on the East End of Provincetown, MA.

LOCATION / Bradford St, Provincetown, MA.

THE STORY /  Tucked at the foot of Tasha’s hill, the Harry Kemp Cottage is local history.

It was Sunny Tasha who designed & built the structure with salvage materials for her long time friend.

A welcome shelter on the hill, closer to her care than Harry’s beloved dune shack could ever allow.

Lost in the ivy and oak trees, the shell path crisp under my bike wheels, pushing a bushel of oysters freshly foraged at low tide near by the Saint Mary’s church.

I favor my winter time at Harry’s cottage, between the old roof lines & smoked chimney, isolated while painting my dune scapes…with gratitude for Paul Tasha’s special care.
